Rest In Paradise, James Kondilios.
Bro, forgive me my words came a bit late, I tried to put down something but I couldn't, the mist of the tears blocked my eyesight, and the memories with you flashed back, just like a movie, Stephen & James. Your hand-written words are still left on my whiteboard, your table still there in my room along with mine, I can see you everywhere, it's just so hard to think that I can't see you anymore, I can't do coding with you anymore, I can't eat meats with you anymore, I can't share whisky with you and I can't laugh hard with you anymore. You said you want to be retired at a peaceful beach, with great sunshine. I have never been to paradise but I think paradise would be better, and I will tell you all about it when I see you again. Last day I went for a walk, I collapsed a couple of times on the roads in tears, a snake swung by, I believed that was you, thank you bro for visiting me.
I am glad I spent a lot of happy time with you last year, and in your last year, it is so respected that you worked so bloody hard for our dreams. I looked back on the codes we wrote and typed together, every single byte of them reminds me of those great days and your big smiles. I am so regretting that I didn't take more photos with you, I am so regretting that I should hug you even harder when last time we saw each other. I can now give up anything just to listen to your mustang's engine sound coming again, and I run downstairs and see you hold two coffees in sunshine smiling at me.
The last message you sent to me was "couldn't ask for a better friend". Likewise bro, the years I spent with you will always be a great part of my life, you will always be on my mind to delight me, encourage me and guide me. I will try to be a better person just like you bro, kind, sweet, nice to everyone and love everyone. We have been through a wonderful journey, and I want to show my best appreciation and respect to you for standing by me bro.
It's going to take a long time, I feel so lucky I was to have you in my life, even if it was not for as long as we would have liked.
Rest in peace, my dear brother, James Kondilios. 🤍🤍🤍
Stephen
